Bethany Church Sunday School traditionally has 8 Sunday School classes and approximately 300 children. The classes include Prayer and Worship, Romanian Language Class, Bible lessons, and then a workshop that applies Biblical truths. In addition to the weekly lessons, this department also organizes, throughout the year, many projects targeted to actively involve the children: Children's worship programs during church service and holidays; Bring a friend at Sunday School (evangelism day); "Little Missionary"; Vacation Bible School; Christmas caroling and missions day; Annual Children`s Convention (hosted by our church in 2005, 2008, and 2011, 2014, 2017). For more information and current information about our schedule, you may contact the Sunday School Leader, Persida Bujdei, at (847) 529-6459 or  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Kids’ Tuesday 

(for the Month of August)

Date: TUESDAYS August 4, 11, 18, 25

                          Time: 7 pm-8 pm 

                                  Place: Bethany Church Sanctuary

 

RULES & EXPECTATIONS

 

·         Children must be accompanied by a parent

·         Children ages: 3-14

·         Everyone must enter the church ONLY through the main door

·         Temperature checks are mandatory upon entry

·         Hand sanitization is mandatory upon entry

·         Masks MUST be worn upon entry AND every single time a child or parent is in motion (not sitting). There are NO exceptions to this rule.

·         Masks will be available for anyone who comes without one.

·         Children should go to the bathroom BEFORE coming to church. We want to MINIMIZE movement during the service (and the service will be relatively short!)

·         Distancing of 6 feet must be observed. Children must sit ONLY with family. They may NOT sit with friends.

SUNDAY SCHOOL SUMMER PROJECT 2020

 

We greet you in the name of the Lord Jesus and sincerely hope that this letter finds you well! We are grateful for the opportunity to communicate with you and have enjoyed the glimpses of your children we have seen through videos over the past couple of months.

As we all know, children have been unable to attend Sunday School since March. However, we have been very thankful to parents who have encouraged children to memorize Scripture and have helped us in filming their children and sending us videos. We are unable to have any in-person VBS or camp activities this summer, but we would like to keep the momentum of memorizing Scripture and videotaping going throughout the summer.

We have developed a plan for this summer with the following goals in mind:

-          Keep ALL Sunday School kids engaged

-          Focus on memorizing God’s Word

-          Ensure that children are a part of church services in some form

-          Ensure that children are active participants rather than passive consumers

We will ask different groups of children to submit recorded videos for the Thursday service and the AM Sunday services. Some clarifications:

-          Parents will be contacted approximately 1 week before videos are due via text message by one of the leaders. A response is very appreciated.

-          Thursday evening videos are reserved for those who will sign up for the Bible Verse Contest (see attached details about this contest). These are not mandatory but serve as an opportunity for accountability.

-          Sunday videos are by class (K3 – 8th grade). Each child in the class will be invited to submit 1-2 verses they’ve recently memorized.

-          All videos must be sent the WEDNESDAY before the service by 5 pm to Persida via WhatsApp (847-529-6459) or through email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . There are no exceptions to this – any videos sent past the deadline cannot be included in the service.

-          Videos should be filmed in LANDSCAPE mode

Despite the challenging times, we believe that this will offer children opportunities to connect with God’s Word, be connected with their church in a very unique way, and “see” and celebrate each other on a weekly basis. We are strongly imploring you as parents to encourage your children to memorize God’s Word and partner with us in this unique project. We are thankful to you for the encouraging messages we have already received and for the many, many videos you have already sent us!
